The Scottish Ironwork Foundation

The Scottish Ironwork Foundation was established in 2002 and is dedicated to researching, recording and promoting an interest in Architectural & Sanitary ironwork, in particular that produced by Scottish companies during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, and other historic ironwork found in Scotland.

For a number of years the S.I.F website (www.scottishironwork.org) provided a comprehensive database of Scottish ironwork heritage items located around the world, including many drinking fountains. Circa 2010, unauthorized access by a hacker necessitated its removal from the web. A rebuild of the website is now available via Scran, a Scottish online resource for educational use by the public, schools, further education and higher education. The direct link to S.I.F. is https://ironworks.scran.ac.uk/ and a companion page on Facebook, The Scottish Ironwork Foundation.

I would personally like to thank John P. Bolton for his invaluable assistance and interest in my blog.
